Long May We Reign

This piece opens with a heroic and grandiose melody heralded by the trumpets. Throughout, bits of a school song are heard, first introduced by horns and later passed through various sections and soloists; then a new lyrical and uplifting melody is introduced by the woodwinds. The opening fanfare, augmented with percussion and low brass, returns to close in flamboyant fashion.
